Formica is a plastic, paper or fabric laminate protected by melamine resin. My favored color is green, but my least favorite colors are gray and black, so these greens do not do anything for me. The wonderful thing about the kitchen is that the appliances are somewhat new – stainless steel dishwasher, range, and refrigerator and the galley style floor program is excellent. Laminate: PROS – Laminate wood flooring is made from composite wood pressed with each other at higher temperatures. Ahead of painting, I took the rest of the cabinet doors off the hinges and lightly sanded the cabinets and the wood strip across the tops/bottoms of each and every door and drawer.
